Caroline is an Assistant Structural Engineer at WSP based in Newcastle. She has worked in practice for 3 years, starting as a Graduate Engineer after graduating from Newcastle University with an MEng Civil Engineering degree. Through her Civil Engineering degree she had the opportunity to travel to rural Borneo to design and construct a gravity fed water system for a remote village; a very challenging experience.
Caroline is part of the Building Structures team at WSP, and has worked on a wide range of projects in the fields of higher education, residential, commercial, and healthcare. Her projects have ranged from new build steel frames, most recently the CIS Building for Northumbria University, to concrete designs, refurbishments and a variety of survey works; she also takes every opportunity available to get out on site and see her designs being built!
Caroline has attended NAWIC events since university, and is proud to be a member of the NAWIC North East committee inspiring and encouraging more women into a career in Construction. She also uses her role as a STEM Ambassador to inspire and encourage a younger generation into the Construction industry
