Building Bridges with Hartlepool College

8/11/2017

Representatives from the National Association of Women In Construction (North East) have today visited Hartlepool College to talk to the students and promote opportunities with women in construction. The students had the opportunity to hear from;
Lisa Stafford - Head of Marketing for ESH Group
Eleanor Curry - Consultant at Roberts Environmental
Emma Graham - Chartered Surveyor
Angela Carney - Chartered H&S Practicioner for Construction
Siobhan McMahon - Architect

As part of the visit, students were then invited to a partake in a construction challenge. Build the LONGEST bridge possible, that could pass a toy car over it. The only materials available were A1 sized paper and sellotape.

A big well done to everybody who took part. As you can see from the images, there were a wide range of different designs and approaches to this challenge. Hopefully, a few minds now thinking of a career within construction.
