Mackenzie studied at Durham Sixth Form Centre gaining qualifications in law, criminology and media.
After this she took a gap year whilst decided about her career, during which she attended courses at Rose Health and Safety. This consisted of the 3 Day First Aid At Work and the 3 Day IOSH Managing Safely course. This is when she realised she was passionate about becoming involved in this industry. She began the level 3 SHE technician apprenticeship with Costain in September 2020 and absolutely loves it! Mackenzie has been involved in an investigation process of a potentially serious incident which was a beneficial experience for herself as well as her career. Mackenzie joined NAWIC late 2020. Her aim is to positively contribute to the committee in inspiring women to become involved within the construction industry, it is not always a male associated role. |
